In response to recent developments concerning threatening emails received by several schools in the city, the Kolkata Police has issued its first advisory. The email, which purportedly threatened the presence of bombs in these institutions, has been deemed a hoax by authorities.

What is a Hoax email? A Hoax E-mail messages distribute false, often disturbing, information designed to trick recipients into passing the same note onto other E-mail users.

Kolkata Police in a tweet say "We want to assure you that this email is a hoax and there is no credible threat to any school" . Drawing attention to similar incidents in other cities like Bangalore and Chennai, the police underscored their commitment to investigating the matter thoroughly.

A case has been initiated against the sender of the prank mail, and investigative efforts are underway. Despite the unsettling nature of such messages, the police urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing the safety of students. Let us tell you that the police has physically searched campuses of Abhinav Bharti School and Apeejay School and checked their cctv footages for any suspicious activities. After intense search, police reached to a conclusion of this email being a hoax. Although they are still trying to locate the sender of the email. 

"While we understand that receiving such messages can be distressing, we urge everyone to refrain from spreading rumors or panicking," the advisory continued. Additionally, Kolkata Police reassured the community of their ongoing communication with schools to provide any necessary assistance.
